Director, Business Development

Our client is a fast-growing Market Research company, seeking to bring onboard a market research business development professional. The firm has a growing stellar list of clients that includes leading companies in financial services, technology, travel and retail. The ideal candidate will be an aggressive, research-savvy and results oriented sales professional with a background in selling market research or professional services to Fortune 1000 companies, in regional centers of Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across different functional groups including Executive and Research Teams.
  • To grow client base and achieve a US$1 million dollar new business sales target.

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of the marketing services or market research industry is required
  • Experience selling to Market Research VPs and Directors of Market Research, Consumer Insights and BrandManagers
  • Achievement of mutually agreed upon annual sales targets.
  • Creation of customized PowerPoint sales presentations for each client opportunity.
  • Proven history of successfully prospecting and developing new clients
  • Drive for success and excellence while having a polished and professional approach
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills
  • Strong sales, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated effective communication - both written as well as oral
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Excellent command of English language, Chinese (Putonghua or Cantonese is an advantage)
